This new half-day course will provide initial training for persons designated by their construction management to act as the Silica Competent Person for their site(s) or who want to learn more about the role of the competent person under the new OSHA Construction Regulation (29 CFR 1926.1153) for Respirable Crystalline Silica. Participants will acquire knowledge through lecture and real-world interactive examples that will help prepare them to comply with the new silica standard.

Construction Silica Competent Person will be taught by 3M's Personal Safety Division (PSD) Technical Service employees. Many 3M PSD Technical Service employees are Certified Industrial Hygienists (CIHs) or Certified Safety Professionals (CSPs) and are actively involved in professional safety organizations such as ASSE (American Society of Safety Engineers) and AIHA (American Industrial Hygiene Association.) In addition to strong U.S. technical support, 3M has PSD Technical Service personnel in over 60 countries. 3M has a dedicated global Technical Service organization with over 240 specialists providing technical support to our customers around the world.
